Buttons, Buttons, Buttons

It is time for the next challenge at Ruby's Rainbow.  The theme is buttons.  I used lots of vintage, well-worn buttons on this card that I made for my mother-in-law's birthday.  I added torn and distressed paper, a bit of vintage lace from an antique store and lots of pretty flowers.  A distressed doily is peeking out from under the chocolate colored butterfly and I used several pearl gems in antique colors.  The sentiment is a diecut from K & Co.  Be sure and stop by Ruby's Rainbow to see what the other talented design team members created with their buttons.

Old Fashioned Keys Card

The newest challenge at Alphabet Challenges is K for Keys.  The base layers are all edged with distress ink.  I used key stickers paired with vintage buttons.  I threw in a little vintage lace and crinkled seam binding ribbon and topped it all with a crystal flourish sticker.  Join us at Alphabet Challenges and show us what you create with your keys.

Gifts from vacation

My mom went on vacation and brought me back a fabulous old jar of vintage buttons from an antique store. There are old fashioned colors and even carved buttons. I love them!

She also brought me these amazing crinkled ribbons. I can't wait to use them on my next card.

Let it Snow

Even though the weather outside is not frightful, it is never too soon to get a jump start on winter and Christmas cards.  I designed this Let it Snow card for Sparkles Christmas Challenges.  The challenge for June is to create something using both buttons and bows.  I accented my snowflakes with buttons and added bows along the bottom border.  Please visit our sponsor Fantastic Ribbons for a great selection of ribbons and more.

Buttons and Bows Challenge

This card is for the buttons and bows challenge at Divas By Design.  I have also entered this card in the ribbon challenge at the Crafty Ribbons Challenge blog.  I have lots of buttons, so it was hard to choose what colors to use.  I found little jars of embellishments at Michaels just before Christmas and a few of the jars had beautiful buttons in them.  I love the vintage look of the rose ribbon.  I sprayed the bracket with Ditto glimmer spray.
