Birthday Card

I made this birthday card for Deborah.  I love the pretty flower and the tag shape which was cut from embossed paper.  The intricate key was cut using my Silhouette Cameo.  The sentiment plaque is from K & Co.

Anniversary Card

This is my latest card creation.  I foiled the calendar page and added the sentiment die cut.  I love the subtle fall colors.  There is a strip of sparkly squares at the bottom.  The foil really dresses it up.

Vintage Flair Necklaces

Here are a few more crocheted necklaces made with unique pendants.  The purple necklace is made using a vintage brooch and lots of Chinese crystals.  The other two have more contemporary pendants, but still have that vintage feel.

Crochet Dress

This is the colorful little dress that I crocheted  a few weeks ago.  My adorable granddaughter, Lilly, is modeling it.  It is a little big so she should be able to wear it for awhile.

More Pretties For Your Neck

I have been busy creating all new necklaces for our boutiques and shows.  I love to re-purpose components from vintage jewelry and combine them with our new pieces.  The golden colored necklaces features a woven seed bead medallion layered over a square filigree.  The autumn colored piece has a vintage clip earring and a lampwork leaf made by our very own Victoria.  Very elegant!

Mandala Madness Part 12

It seems like it took me forever to complete part 12 of this blanket.  I am not able to work on it as much as I would like, but I will finish...eventually.  For more information on the Mandala Madness CAL, visit Helen's website, Crystals and Crochet.  Helen is starting another CAL next week.  It is a rectangular shaped blanket made up of different sizes of decorative squares.  I would love to participate, but I have to complete the Mandala first.

A Giant Mess

Because I often have multiple projects going at the same time, some days my craft table looks like this.  I like my supplies to be very organized so this is a huge mess for me. I have paper, yarn, beads and more scattered everywhere.  I am sure that lots of awesome creations will come from this mess.

Here a few of our newest necklace creations.  We have used our new bird and key pendants that I recently posted about.  These necklaces turned out beautifully.  We also strive for a vintage feel.

Seed Beaded Cabochon Necklace

This is a necklace I created using seed beads, a jasper cabochon and a piece of Ultrasuede.  The tiny seed beads are stitched on one or two at a time all the way around the cabochon.  Trimming the extra fabric away was the hardest part.  You can find this one-of-a-kind necklace at Piccadilly Frilly in Bentonville, AR.

Lampwork Leaf Earrings in the Making

This is a tray filled with lampwork leaf headpins and woven beads getting ready to be made into leaf earrings.  I weave Superduo and Delica beads together to form tiny rings that sit on top of the leaves.  You can find these earrings at Posh Alley Boutique in Rogers, AR.

Block Scarf Project

I am currently working on a scarf design for my mom using luxurious yarn by Koigu.  This yarn is hard to find online, but a Tulsa yarn store, Loops, has a whole display of it.  The colors are all slightly mottled and a few of them have very subtle sparkles.  I am using a block design for which I couldn't find a pattern, so I am designing as I go.

Mandala Madness Part 11

Week 11 of the Mandala Madness CAL is officially behind me.  I am completely behind, but I am still trudging along.  The blanket is too large to transport so I can only work on it at home now.  I am hoping to have part 12 finished in a few weeks.

Bird Tag Card

I recently organized some of my paper crafting supplies.  As I cleaned out several small drawers, I came across this little bird, the tag and the embossed paper pieces.  I rearranged several drawers and found that the tag was too wide for the new space.  I decided to combine all of these orphaned components into a card.  Ta da!

Mannequin Decoupage

This is a little project I have wanted to make for several months.  I found this little styro-foam mannequin at JoAnn's and wanted to cover it with tissue.  I tore the tissue into little pieces and used Mod Podge to adhere the pieces, overlapping as I went.  When it was all dry, I sprayed the tissue with several colors of Dylusions spray ink.  I don't really have any further plans for this mannequin, but it is nice and colorful.

Mandala Madness Part 10

This was the hardest week yet!  The rows that make up the diamond stitches were very challenging.  I refer to this week as the dreaded diamond week.  One of my FB friends reminded me that diamonds are a girls best friend.

I am happy to have this one behind me.  Next week should be a breeze!  If you want to learn more about this CAL, head over to Crystals and Crochet for more information.

Using Old Paper

I have been working on organization in the craft room this week.  I re-discovered quite a few materials and supplies that I rarely use.  I decided to make it a point to use some of these older materials.  I worked with handmade and embossed paper that mostly comes from India.  It is definitely not something you would want to get rid of - it is just too pretty.

Foiled Logo Garment Tags

These cute little garment tags are a custom order.  These are simple, yet elegant with foiled lettering.  The tag shaped is one I designed and cut with my Silhouette Cameo machine.  There is so much you can do with the cutting machine and the foil.  Oh, the possibilities!

More Necklaces

The gals at Dry Gulch have all been super busy creating new necklaces.  Some are wire wrapped, some are knotted and some are crocheted.  We have used hand painted pendants and semi-precious stones for the focals.

Custom DecorativeTags

I have been busy working on an order for custom gift tags for Daisy Rose in Ft. Worth, TX.  These tags have many design elements and are a lot of fun to make.

I start with elements designed and cut with the Silhouette Cameo.

I also crochet each flower by hand for the embellishments.

This is how they look with all of the elements in place.

I even create a little envelope for each tag.

Iron-on T-Shirt Designs

We had fun using the Cameo to create t-shirt designs for the girls.  The fireworks and triangle shirts are made with iron-on glitter and the Light Up the Sky shirt was made by cutting a stencil with the machine.  Alexandra painted the design using the stencil.  They had a great time designing their own shirts.

Decorative Gift Box

I had nice white box just sitting around, so I decided to decorate it with tissue paper.   I started with a layer of green tissue and then covered that with a decorative tissue that is ready to be colored.

Once the glue was dry, I started adding ink sprays in several colors.  I used a combination of distress spray stains, Dylusions spray ink and Heidi Swapp spray ink.  All of the colors blended into a pretty green shade, but you can still see lots of variations.  When the ink was dry, I coated the whole box with Distress Collage Medium.  The vintage color of the medium toned down the bright colors and sealed the tissue.  Now I can use this pretty box for a pretty gift.
