Pretty Tags

I spent this weekend at my sister's house visiting relatives I have not seen in years.  We had a great time and I showed my neice and second cousin how to create a fun and colorful tag.  We used the new Tim Holtz stencils and Martha Stewart punches.  Here are the tags that the talented girls whipped up.  I think there might be card making in their futures.

Here is the tag that I created.  I started with the stencils and added a grunge board flourish and a little lace.  We had a great time crafting together.

A Winter Scene

The new challenge at Sparkles Christmas Challenges is "A Winter Scene".  I chose a vintage postcard of a wintery bird scene.  I distressed the edge and added a little ink.  The branches needed a little glitter so added Stickles.  The festive poinsettia flowers sit on a piece of beautiful burgundy ribbon.  I added a couple of crystal gem swirls.  It looks like I negelcted to add any lace to this one - amazing!  Be sure to join us at Sparkles and show us your creation.  This month's sponsor is Marianne Design and the prize is either 1 stamp and 1 die or 2 dies.  They have some really beautiful dies.

Stamped Bird Tag

Our new challenge at Ruby's Rainbow Challenges is to create something with stamping.  It can be hand stamped or digital.  I chose to hand stamp my background with a lace patterned rubber stamp.  I added lace, crystal gems and a chipboard birdcage.  The bird is a kraft colored cutout that I inked to bring out the design.  I topped the tag off with hand dyed vintage seam binding ribbon.  Stop by Ruby's and see what our talented design team created and be sure to show us your stamped project.

Flora and Fauna

The new challenge at Ruby's Rainbow Challenges is Flora and Fauna.  I chose a bird with hydrangea flowers.  I added hand dyed seam ribbon and a cameo flower.  I stamped the writing on the background plaque and painted the edges with distress paint.  The wire coils finished off the flowers.  Stop by at Ruby's and show us what you create.

Inspiration at Alphabet Challenges

The new challenge at Alphabet Challenges is to use this beautiful montage of color as your inspiration.

I used vintage lace, flowers, pearl gems and a butterfly that I sprayed with Dylusions ink.  These are colors that I would not normally put together, so this was a fun challenge.  Stop by Alphabet Challenges and show us how the picture inspired you.
