Baby It's Cold Outside Challenge

This month's challenge at Sparkles Christmas Challenges is to use hats, gloves, mittens and /or scarves.  I chose a Jolee's hat sticker for my element.  I layered lots of Christmas colored paper and used a crepe paper ribbon border decorated with vintage buttons.  Our sponsor for this month is Marianne's Designs.  Get a jump on your Christmas cards and stop by and show us your creation.

Recipe Card Challenge

The new challenge at Ruby's Rainbow Challenges is to use the recipe "Twine, Buttons & Embossing".  I chose a neutral embossed paper to layer over the old-fashioned floral print card base.  I inked the embossed areas lightly with Tea Dye Distress Ink and added a filigree corner (from Dry Gulch Beads).    The vintage nests and eggs advertisement went beautifullt with the champagne colored crystal bird sticker.  Everycard needs a little lace and that is the base for my twine and the vintage buttons.  Stop by and show us what you can cook up with this recipe.

Easter Cards

I wanted to show off the beautiful cards that I received for Easter this year.  My talented sister Sam and daughter Gianna gave me these pretty creations.  My sister used Inkadinkado stamps to create the background for the bottom card.  I love the embossed cardstock and the little birdie.  Gianna layered papers with flowers and a diecut and finished it off with crystal gems. I love the colors of both of them.  I love it when I receive cards from my family!

Angry Birds with a Sketch

The current challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy challenge Blog is this fun sketch.

I have used an image from Mygrafico's Aeroboy set.  I layered papers with a red background to form the center diamonds.  I added a little sparkle to the aviator glasses and I added a smidge of color to the birds with Distress markers.  Stop by and see what our other design team members have created.  We would love to see your interpretation of this sketch too.  The prize for this challenge is a set of digital stamps from Mygrafico.

Vintage Lady Card

The new challenge at Ruby's Rainbow Challenges is "Ladies".  I chose to use a vintage image of a lady that I found on a Coke calendar magnet.  This calendar was from 1994 and the image looks like it is from a vintage postcard.  I added lace (of course) and red ribbon roses on the side.  The background is a lace diecut layered on green cardstock over black polka dot cardstock.  I finished the card with crystal and pearl gems and felt and crocheted flowers.  These bold tones are not my usual colors, but I enjoyed making it.  Join us at Ruby's and show us your creation.

Easter Card

The new challenge at Alphabet Challenges is "E" for Easter.  I chose a print of a vintage basket of Easter eggs with purple violas.  I added vintage lace and hand-dyed seam binding ribbon.  The pretty swirled 'E' is a rub-on.  I added pearl gems to finish the card.  Pop over to Alphabet Challenges and show us your Easter card.

Spring Birds Sharing an Umbrella

Our new challenge at Ruby's Rainbow Challenges is spring inspired.  This time, I am the challenge host and I have chosen umbrellas or raindrops.  In fact, it is raining while I am writing this post.  I found a beautiful vintage postcard image of two birds sharing an umbrella.  I added lace and pink furry trim along with a patinaed metal flower.  Be sure to stop by Ruby's and show us your creation.
