"U" is for Umbrella
Today's challenge at the Alphabet Challenge blog is "U" for umbrella. I chose a vintage advertisement paper for my background with a vintage postcard umbrella image on top. I added lace over a Martha Stewart border punch and a crystal frame around the pretty umbrella. An old fashioned cameo finishes off my card.
This was a big challenge for me, because I had absolutely no umbrella stickers, paper or embellishments. I am amazed at the beautiful images you can find online. Hop over to Alphabet Challenges and show us what you create using an umbrella.

Flutterby
Our challenge at Ruby's Rainbow is to create something using pink and blue. I opted for lots of lace and flowers and a sparkly butterfly. I started with old fashioned pink and blue paper from a DCWV stack. I used a Martha Stewart lacy border punch for the bottom and vintage lace and pink rose ribbon for the side. I added a little pink crystal flourish and topped the card with lots of soft flowers. I wouldn't normally use these soft colors this time of the year, which is what makes these challenges so much fun. It is good to be challenged. Stop by Ruby's Rainbow to see what the rest of the design team created - we want to see yours too!

Buttons, Buttons, Buttons
It is time for the next challenge at Ruby's Rainbow. The theme is buttons. I used lots of vintage, well-worn buttons on this card that I made for my mother-in-law's birthday. I added torn and distressed paper, a bit of vintage lace from an antique store and lots of pretty flowers. A distressed doily is peeking out from under the chocolate colored butterfly and I used several pearl gems in antique colors. The sentiment is a diecut from K & Co. Be sure and stop by Ruby's Rainbow to see what the other talented design team members created with their buttons.

Micro / Mini Elements Card
This is my card for the Alphabet Challenges M for micro / mini or brad challenge. We had to use little bitty elements on our project. I chose tiny butterflies for my design. I added lace (of course) and a couple of leaf pins. This was a difficult challenge since I discovered that I don't have a lot of mini elements to work with. Sounds like I need a shopping trip! Be sure and stop by Alphabet Challenges to see the beautiful work of our other design team members.

Old Fashioned Keys Card
The newest challenge at Alphabet Challenges is K for Keys. The base layers are all edged with distress ink. I used key stickers paired with vintage buttons. I threw in a little vintage lace and crinkled seam binding ribbon and topped it all with a crystal flourish sticker. Join us at Alphabet Challenges and show us what you create with your keys.

Hello Friend
I created this oversized card for the Seems a Little Sketchy challenge #42. I used a lace (pronounced lah-say) piece for the round element given to me by my friend Joy. The copper strip was embossed in my Vagabond and the little birdie sticker is from JoAnn's. Nothing is complete without sparkle, so I added a crystal flourish for the finishing touch. Here is the inspirational sketch.

Things with Wings - Take Flight
The newest challenge at Ruby's Rainbow Challenges is Things with Wings. My card is called Take Flight. I chose a butterfly and added lots of sparkles. I always love to add lace to any card and I paired the lace with tissue tape and hand dyed seam binding. A metal flower accent was the finishing touch. Visit Ruby's Rainbow Challenges to show your things with wings creation. I am also submitting this card to the Pile it On Challenge - Bling and Happy Campers - Bling.

Welcome Sweet Baby Card
This week's challenge at Ruby's Rainbow Challenges is to create a baby card. I chose blue and yellow colors to coordinate with the baby buggy sticker that I had. I added some cute buttons tied with baker's twine and a little bit of vintage lace. The sentiment says welcome sweet baby and I hand wrote it on a flag. Be sure and visit Ruby's Rainbow Challenges to see all of the pretty baby cards.

Just a Note
This card was made for the Sound of Music challenge at Papertake Weekly Challenge. I started with gold mirrorcard and then added vintage style sheet music paper. I have been waiting to use one of my Tim Holtz ornate plates on just the right project and this was it. I added a filigree corner from Dry Gulch Beads & Jewelry, a beautiful crystal flourish and of course, vintage lace.

Festive Colors Christmas Card
It is never too early to get a jumpstart on Christmas cards. This one is my design team card for the Festive Colors challenge at Sparkles Christmas Challenges. I started with red mirrorcard and added a pretty piece of paper from a 6x6 paper pad. The lace is vintage from an antique store and the sentiment centerpiece is a sticker from K & Co. The challenge blog is named Sparkles, so I had to add lots of sparkle. Join us at Sparkles Christmas Challenges - we would love to see what you create in festive colors.

Easter Card
I created a card for the latest challenge at Ruby's Rainbow Challenges. The current challenge is to create an Easter inspired item. I started with papers in blues and green and then added vintage lace from an antique store. I mounted the rabbit on embossed copper foil and added rose ribbon at the bottom. The sparkly egg stickers are from K & Co. The Happy Easter sentiment is just tiny alphabet stickers from JoAnn's mounted on a piece of chipboard. The crystal stickers on the edge finish off my Easter card. Stop by and check out all of the beautiful entries at Ruby's Rainbow.

New Inspiration
My new BasicGrey supplies were very inspiring. I combined some of the vintage elements with some newer flowers for a pretty combination. I created a border using vintage dyed seam binding ribbon that I found at the 2 Friends and Junk Show in Joplin. The lace and the metallic silver leaves are vintage as well.
The talented card makers at Sugar Creek Hollow are having a lace challenge this week, so I thought I would play along. Be sure to check out their blog since it has tons of inspiring projects.
Spring is Coming
This is one of my favorite cards ever. I love the soft colors and textures of the flowers and velvet leaves. There are three layers of lace and trim and the gold charm hangs from the lace with an old-fashioned garment pin. I am ready for winter's end and the gilded bird is ready for spring too.
