New Wildflower Die Cuts

There are lots of new wildflower and leaf spray die cuts available in my Etsy store this week.  Each lot is one-of-a-kind and cannot be replicated.

These die cuts were cut from heavy weight paper (not quite cardstock thickness).

These would make beautiful journal decorations and they look amazing on cards.

Layered Stamped Flowers

I had fun creating this ccard for my sister's birthday.  I wanted to break out the stamps and inks and I chose the Vintage Flower, layered stamping set from Altenew.   I colored several flowers at the same time, stamping 4 flowers per paper.  I created a page of leaves as well.  Once these were finished, I used the coordinating dis to cut them out.

The foil paper is from Tim Holtz and I love the color.  I added a few gold mirrorcard leaves from PaperiebyJennifer.  The final touch was a few tiny foamiran flowers to add a little texture.

White Christmas

This snowy card was created for the White Christmas challenge at Fezzwigs Festive Frolics.  I used a white snowflake background die that has a rectangle cut out in the center.  To decorate the middle, I added a gold mirrorcard snowflake layered over a sparkly silver glitter one.  This one is simple, but I love the way the white pops against the navy background.

You can find this background and the sparkly snowflakes in my Etsy store, PaperiebyJennifer.

Newly Acquired Stash Challenge

This elegant card is for the Sisterhood of Crafters new challenge, "Newly Acquired Stash."  I actually have many new goodies to choose from, but I chose to create with my new Tonic Studios Speciality Cardstock in Golden Satin and Crimson Silk.  These are rich colors that work well together.

The leaves were cut from cardstock sprayed with Nuvo Mica Sprays.  These are also new stash for me.  I used Nuvo classic gold embossing powder for the sentiment.  I started with Kraft 110 lb cardstock and layered on the Golden Satin.  I added a neutral polka dot paper layer so the beautiful flower could pop.

I cut 6 pieces from the flower die out of both crimson and gold cardstock and layered them together.   I added dimension to the card by adhering the flower and sentiment strip with sticky foam dots.  The center of the flower is a Nuvo Rose Triad gem.

Washi Tape Challenge

The latest challenge at Alphabet Challenge Blog is U for Use Washi Tape.  As a former design team member, I love the challenges on this blog.  I used the washi tape to decorate my decorative oval diecut and layered it over foam for dimension.

I used an extra wide washi tape and covered a piece of cardstock.  I ran it through my Vagabond with this oval cutting die.  Washi over cardstock is prettier than patterned paper because the tape gives it a translucent tissue effect.

I cut the layered butterfly from Tonic Studios Satin Cobalt cardstock - so luxurious!  The butterfly die has a solid layer and then a decorative cut out layer cut from the same cardstock.  I only adhered the center of the butterfly so the wings could stand up a bit.  I usually layer different papers together, but this satin cardstock is pretty by itself.  I added Silver Petals gems from Nuvo for the butterfly body.  I layered the oval over more Tonic Studios satin mirror cardstock.  So elegant!

Thinking of You Sisterhood Challenge

I have been playing with Foamiran and making some really pretty flowers.  My sister gave me the Crafters Companion flower making kit for Christmas.  I have had a ton of fun playing with this super thin foam.  It cuts beautifully with thin cutting dies.  Be sure to stop by The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge blog to see lots of beautiful Thinking of You cards.

The basic supplies for making Foamiran flowers are very thin foam, flower shaped cutting dies, flower stamens, a heat source (iron or candle warmer), a balling tool and a little wire.  The balling tool and spnge mat can be used to form the flowers.

I used different styles of flowers, layered together to form textured flowers.  The thinking of you die was cut twice out of cream cardstock and once out of gold mirror cardstock and glued together to form a sturdy sentiment.

The Foamiran comes n sheets and it is so thin that you can cut multiple layers at the same time using the thin cutting dies.  This is definitely a time saver. You can cut as many layers as you want.  The more layers, the more full your flower will be.  I used three layers for each of my flowers.

I cut the sentiment and the pretty green leaves from patterned paper.  The Crystal Gems are from Nuvo (Tonic Studios).  The flower stamens came with the flower kit, but you can find them online.  These are 1mm stamens.

This little candle warmer makes a great heat source to curl the foamiran.  It only takes a few seconds and I have less chance of burning myself with the traditional heat tool which is an iron.

These are the flowers as I layered the pieces together.  I started with the flower stamens held together by a small piece of wire.  The foam is very thin so you can use the wire to poke holes in the centers of the flowers.  I have seen other crafters use a hole punch or an awl to make the hole, but the wire does the trick as well.

I love how this dimensional card came together.  This foam has so many capabilities.  Be sure to visit the Sisterhood of Crafters blog for lots of inspiration.

Frame Card

I had a lot of fun creating this frame card using the Spellbinders Adjustable Shadow Box Frame die.  This frame die is great because the die allows you to make the box any size you want it.

The pieces look strange, but there are several Youtube videos with clear directions that make the frame super easy to make.   The "How to Assemble Spellbinders ShadowBox" video is very helpful.

I added a folding card to the back of the box for my message.  This creates an easel for display as well.  I cut the Mr. & Mrs. using the Cameo 4 and a cut file designed by Kolette Hall from the Silhouette Design Store.   The rest of the die cuts were created using unbranded dies cut from shimmer and holographic mirrorcard.

I hope you will give these frame cards a try - they make very elegant gifts.

Sketch Challenge

I created this Thanks card for the Krafty Chicks Challenge #487 - Sketch.  Each letter represents one of the five sentiments in the sketch.   I wanted to use my new banner alphabet dies (unbranded).  I ued specialty cardstock from Tonic Studios for the background.

I also created a second card for the sketch challenge.  I used Tonic cardstock for the background, once again.  I added a die cut plaque and mirrorcard hellos.  You can find the hello die cuts in my Etsy store, PaperieByJennifer.

These die cuts will dress up your journal pages and make really pretty cards.

Oh Christmas Tree

These are a few of the Christmas cards I created this year.  I am sharing these tree themed cards with The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge.  Most of these festive die cuts can be found in my Etsy store, PaperiebyJennifer.

S is for Snow Card Challenge

I just had to come back for the next Alphabet Challenge - S is for Snow.  I used gold mirrorcard for the base and cut out a circle to let the white glitter cardstock show through.  I added lots of small, intricate snowflakes all around the circle to form a snowflake wreath.  The snowflakes are cut from mirrorcard and holographic cardstock.  Super shiny!

Here are some other wintery cards I made using my snowflake diecuts.  The snowy-looking dotted paper is cotton paper from Tonic Studios.  I love their handmade papers.

For this card, I started with Nuvo Glacier paste over a stencil.  The paste dries with a shimmery, foiled look.  I added some mirrorcard die cuts to match the silver mirrorcard base and voila, this Christmas card is complete.

Visit my Etsy store, PaperiebyJennifer for loads of intricate snowflake die cuts.

New Snowflake Die Cuts

I have been busy adding new snowflake die cuts to my Etsy store.  I love the wreath - it would make a really cool shaker card.  This set comes in holographic silver, teal mirrorcard and shimmer cardstock.

This JOY die cut makes a really quick and easy card that is very elegant.  The letters are included so you can mix and match them with the different color frames.

These Deck the Halls ornaments aare super cute!  I can't wait to use one on a Christmas card.
